Non-Custodial Security

Hodly is designed as a non-custodial software and workflow interface. Except where expressly stated, Hodly does not maintain a deposit account for you or custody your fiat currency or digital assets.

Non-custodial does not mean assets always remain at the same wallet address. When you swap, deposit into a vault, withdraw, claim rewards, or execute an Accumulation purchase, assets may move through or into smart contracts and third-party protocols.

Manual transactions

For a manual transaction, you review the transaction and authorize it through your connected wallet.

Depending on the action, you may be asked to:

  • Switch to Base
  • Approve a token for a specific spender
  • Confirm a swap, deposit, withdrawal, or claim
  • Review the amount, destination, fees, and expected output
  • Pay network gas when sponsored gas is unavailable

Blockchain transactions may be irreversible after submission.

Automated transactions

When you enable Accumulation automation, you authorize Hodly to act according to the saved plan parameters and the Base USDC spending permission you approve.

An automated purchase may execute without a separate wallet confirmation at every scheduled interval.

Automation is limited by:

  • The saved target asset and plan settings
  • The approved execution wallet
  • Base USDC spending permission
  • Applicable allowance or spending limits
  • Risk Stop and amount rules
  • Supported quote and execution routes
  • Backend readiness and safety checks

You are responsible for monitoring active plans and disabling automation when you no longer want it to run.

Disabling automation stops future Hodly automated execution for that plan. It may not revoke an existing onchain token approval or wallet permission. Revoking an approval may require a separate wallet or onchain transaction.

External and Hodly wallets

With an external wallet, wallet software and key management are provided by the wallet provider you choose. Hodly does not receive your seed phrase or external-wallet private key.

A Hodly embedded wallet uses configured third-party wallet and signing infrastructure connected to your authenticated Hodly account. Protect your email, authentication methods, devices, and account recovery access.

Hodly cannot guarantee recovery of a lost external wallet, seed phrase, private key, compromised account, or incorrectly sent transaction.

Smart-contract interactions

Hodly may connect your wallet to:

  • Hodly execution contracts
  • Swap routers and liquidity pools
  • Yield vaults
  • Lending protocols
  • Reward distributors
  • Token approval contracts
  • Base network infrastructure

These contracts and protocols may hold, route, exchange, or account for assets during an authorized workflow.

Non-custodial architecture does not remove smart-contract, protocol, liquidity, oracle, token, or network risk.

Sponsored gas

Eligible Hodly Wallet actions may use sponsored gas.

Sponsored gas only changes who pays the network fee. It does not guarantee transaction success, remove smart-contract risk, or make a transaction reversible.

Security practices

  • Verify the wallet address and Base network before authorizing an action.
  • Review token, amount, spender, destination, fee, and expected output.
  • Never share a seed phrase, private key, password, OTP, or recovery credential.
  • Use only official Hodly and wallet-provider interfaces.
  • Protect your email account and devices with strong authentication.
  • Review active Accumulation plans and wallet permissions regularly.
  • Revoke unused token approvals through a trusted wallet or approval-management interface.
  • Be cautious of unexpected signature, approval, or recovery requests.
  • Confirm contract and transaction details through Basescan when appropriate.

Important notes

  • Hodly cannot reverse confirmed blockchain transactions.
  • Hodly cannot guarantee recovery from compromised wallets or accounts.
  • Third-party wallet, ramp, protocol, RPC, and network services have independent security and availability risks.
  • A non-custodial design does not guarantee against loss of assets.

Disclosures & Disclaimers

Hodly provides software, interfaces, analytics, automation tools, and educational information. Hodly does not provide individualized investment, legal, tax, accounting, financial, broker-dealer, or fiduciary advice.

You are responsible for evaluating whether any asset, vault, strategy, plan, transaction, or third-party service is appropriate for your circumstances.

Market and asset risk

  • Digital assets are volatile and may lose some or all of their value.
  • A lower Risk Metric does not mean an asset is safe or cannot fall further.
  • A higher Risk Metric does not guarantee that an asset price will decline.
  • Stablecoins may lose their intended value or become illiquid.
  • Token markets may experience low liquidity, price manipulation, discontinuation, or unsupported transfers.
  • Digital assets may not have deposit insurance or equivalent consumer protection.

Analytics and model risk

Hodly analytics include the Risk Metric, Vault Health Score, Risk Band Distribution, Calendar Performance, Dynamic Risk Range, historical charts, simulations, and backtests.

These tools may rely on historical prices, blockchain data, third-party providers, cached observations, and proprietary models.

  • Data may be delayed, incomplete, unavailable, duplicated, or corrected.
  • Models may contain limitations, errors, assumptions, or outdated relationships.
  • Historical relationships may change.
  • Scores and estimates may change when new data enters the model.
  • Analytics do not predict future prices or performance.
  • Backtests and simulations do not reproduce every live transaction condition.

The exact Risk Metric formula, parameters, transformations, and lookback periods are proprietary.

Accumulation and automation risk

  • A scheduled plan does not guarantee a completed purchase.
  • Risk Stop rules may result in extended periods without execution.
  • Variable plans may require more USDC during lower-risk conditions.
  • Automated transactions can execute under previously approved spending permission without a separate confirmation each time.
  • Invalid, expired, revoked, insufficient, or mismatched permission may prevent execution.
  • Disabling automation does not reverse completed transactions.
  • Execution may fail or be skipped because of wallet, quote, route, gas, network, provider, or system conditions.

Swap and transaction risk

  • Quotes may change before execution.
  • Slippage, liquidity, price movement, fees, and gas can affect the final amount received.
  • Token approvals authorize a contract or spender to use tokens within the approved scope.
  • Contract calls and transfers may be irreversible.
  • Sponsored gas may be unavailable.
  • A submitted transaction may fail, remain pending, or confirm later than expected.

Yield and DeFi risk

Yield vaults and DeFi protocols may involve:

  • Smart-contract vulnerabilities
  • Oracle failure or manipulation
  • Bad debt
  • Liquidity constraints
  • Withdrawal delays or failure
  • Curator or governance changes
  • Timelock or configuration changes
  • Stablecoin depegging
  • Reward-token volatility
  • Network or provider outages
  • Partial or complete loss of principal

APY is variable and is not guaranteed.

Vault share value can increase or decrease. Reward APY estimates are not claimable wallet balances. Token rewards may require a separate verified claim transaction when supported.

Vault Health Scores, warnings, curator information, and liquidity estimates are educational research inputs and do not guarantee vault safety.

Third-party services

Hodly may display or connect to third-party wallets, payment providers, onramps, offramps, protocols, APIs, RPC providers, and blockchain applications.

Those parties control their own:

  • Availability
  • Security
  • Compliance checks
  • Transaction approval
  • Fees and exchange rates
  • Limits and supported jurisdictions
  • Settlement and refunds
  • Terms and privacy practices

Hodly does not control or guarantee third-party services.

Historical performance

Past performance, historical APY, simulated returns, backtests, price history, historical risk zones, and calendar patterns do not guarantee future results.

Results may exclude fees, gas, spread, slippage, taxes, funding delays, failed transactions, and other live conditions.

User responsibility

You are responsible for:

  • Protecting wallet and account credentials
  • Reviewing transaction and permission details
  • Monitoring active plans and positions
  • Maintaining sufficient balances
  • Understanding applicable fees and taxes
  • Conducting independent research
  • Consulting qualified legal, tax, accounting, or financial professionals when appropriate

Digital assets may result in partial or complete loss of capital.
